Several homeless people are receiving houses without working for years. Some are even recovering druggies. "I was smoking lots of pot, smoking it for 30 years... You add that to my depression, and I wasn't doing much." Learning just from this article who the Housing First program, operated by Western Dairyland Community Action Agency, was handing out their houses to I don't think they were careful with who they were handing their houses out to. Giving a house to a person who is now to lazy to work won't result in them keeping it. If they don't get a job they won't have the money to pay the bills or the taxes that come with possessing a house.

Pros:
- Less homeless people on the street for a short time frame.
- gives homeless some type of hope
Cons:
- The people they've given the houses to so far haven't even attempted to get a job in years and just hoping they will get a job isn't enough for them to actually obtain one.
- Short term
- No guarantee of how the person will respond to having this house (having parties)
