Family Matters

CATCHY TITLE:  Family Matters

BLOG POST BODY PARAGRAPHS:  (Broken into easy to read paragraphs, formatting font to make it easier to follow main ideas, etc.)
  • Briefly explain why you are interested in studying your topic:  I am interested in this topic because my family and I are very close.  My siblings and I have done the same type of activities our whole life.  My families ideals are very strong and are passed along through the years.  However, our personalities are very different.  I just think it is interesting that families ideals and people’s lifestyles are very dependant on close family members.

  • The overall question I plan on answering by the end of the project: How do families affect individuals’ decisions?

  • Sub questions I will need to answer in order to answer the overall question:  How does it influence your overall ideals?  How does it influence your activities and hobbies?  How does it influence your political identities?   Do people who are not close with families feel that they are similar to their family members?  How do families influence your future?

  • My plan of research (what specific Library Databases, specific websites, names of authors, people, etc. will I pursue to find the answers to the questions above):  I am going to take surveys of people and ask them: how close they are with their families? If they have siblings how close in age are they? Do the siblings have similar interests/ etc.  I am in Psychology so I am going to look in my Myers Psychology textbook on how family influence certain people.
I am also going to research on the internet on certain websites.  Here are a couple I will start off with: http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/news/education/2010-07-15-familytype15_ST_N.htm

Ill use the database Student Resources in Content and other databases like that that will help me find good articles for this research project.
