PASSION PROJECT PLANNING & BLOG POST DRAFTS

BLOG POST #1
CATCHY TITLE: Do College Athletes Deserve to Make The Big Bucks?

BLOG POST BODY PARAGRAPHS:  (Broken into easy to read paragraphs, formatting font to make it easier to follow main ideas, etc.)
  • Briefly explain why you are interested in studying your topic:
The reason why I am interested in this topic is because in college I hope to major in sports management. Sports management can get you jobs such as being an agent for a professional athlete, working within a college or professional organization as a coach or staff member of the program, and even working in public relations with the organization. I am also very interested in whether it should be the guys on the field earning the money or the people in the stands (people within the organization not the fans) watching.
  • The overall question I plan on answering by the end of the project:
The question I hope to answer at the end of this project is: Do college athletes deserved to be paid?
  • Sub questions I will need to answer in order to answer the overall question:
How much are scholarships worth and are they comparable?
How much income does each sport bring in from merchandise, tickets, and popularity?
Should only the Division I men's athletics be paid or should women and even Division II be paid?

  • My plan of research (what specific Library Databases, specific websites, names of authors, people, etc. will I pursue to find the answers to the questions above):
I plan to research through:
ESPN
Sports Illustrated
ProQuest

Books (forgot title and author)
