Exploring The Depths

BLOG POST BODY PARAGRAPHS:  (Broken into easy to read paragraphs, formatting font to make it easier to follow main ideas, etc.)
  • Briefly explain why you are interested in studying your topic:
I am interested in the sea and space because of the wide unknown expanses of both places. The sea isn’t seemingly infinite like space, but we haven’t explored a large majority of it. For space, we know a lot of what exists within it, and we know more about space than we do about our own oceans. The abyss of space and the sea have always fascinated me, and I’ve always wondered why we spend so much money trying to explore space, instead of delving into the depths of the ocean, where an unknown world lies. Is it because there’s far more valuable sources in space, and not in the sea? There is a possibility of a new Earth in space, but it would be hundreds of light years away. However, in the sea, there can be anything, ranging from new life forms to an alternative energy source or more resources we need to sustain ourselves
  • The overall question I plan on answering by the end of the project:
Which is more worth exploring-the sea or space?
  • Sub questions I will need to answer in order to answer the overall question:
What value is there in exploring space? What resources can we gain from exploring space? What is the most valuable resource that can be found in space and not in the sea? What value is in exploring the sea? What possible resources can we gain in exploring the oceans? Is it better to invest in exploring the sea or space? What will yield the most benefit?
  • My plan of research (what specific Library Databases, specific websites, names of authors, people, etc. will I pursue to find the answers to the questions above):
Resources of Near-Earth Space. J. Lewis, M. S. Matthews, M. L. Guerrieri.
