Is the American Dream Dead?

The American Dream is a dream that has changed with time. Goals like; a nice car, white picket fence house, as well as many other ideas started to show up. One of the newest and most drastic changes to the American Dream is if it is still attainable.

According to a blog post in the Washington Post, 63% of Americans don't think so.

Reasons:
  • The main reason why the article says, is this past decade. Since 2005, the global economy has been uneasy and much like The Vietnam War in the 1960's, The War on Terror has escalated.
  • Another reason for the decline is the lack of trust in institutions like the church, Banks, and newspapers just to name a few.
  • Time has also been a factor because changing technology and global markets have affected American jobs.
FUTURE RESEARCH: : I plan to interview my great uncle(who came over as an immigrant and archived the American Dream) and see from a then to now perspective and see if someone in his shoes thinks its possible.
