• Briefly explain why you are interested in studying your topic:  I am interested in my topic because it is something I have had to deal with in the past. I got a concussion sophomore year during lacrosse and didn’t really know what it was or how it affected me. I think it would be interesting to actually find out all the effects on concussions. I have seen countless amounts of people get them during football and lacrosse and it seems an interesting topic to research.

• The overall question I plan on answering by the end of the project: What are the effects of concussions on athletes?

• Sub questions I will need to answer in order to answer the overall question: What are the symptoms of concussions both long term and short term? How do concussions affect adolescents compared to adults? What sports are the biggest risk for concussions? How can we prevent concussions from happening? What steps should be taken after receiving a concussion?

• My plan of research (what specific Library Databases, specific websites, names of authors, people, etc. will I pursue to find the answers to the questions above): I will use a lot of the library databases for statistics on concussions. Iw ill also use websites like Mayo Clinic Web.MD and CDC to find out specific affects and symptoms of concussions. I will also probably look at espn to try and find statistics of NFL players getting concussions.
