Are music festivals a recent thing or have they been going on for a while?
Author: A common misconception is that music festivals just started to begin when really they've been going on for a long time. During the 20th century, especially the 1960's, is when they sparked the beginning of music festivals. So they have not just been a recent thing, but have been going on for a while now.
In your opinion, what are the best music festivals to attend, or past music festivals that have gone on if someone were to choose?
Author: -The Newport Fold Festival began in 1959 and ended in 1971 and had some great historical moments attached to it
-The Monterey Pop Festival, a 3 day festival in 1967
-Wodstock involved music and art which was also a three day festival that started in 1969, and still goes on and marked its 40th anniversary in 2009
- Isle of Wight Festival occurred in the years 1968 through 1970 but revived in 2002 and occurs annually again.
-Glastonbury Festival took place in 1971 and was involved with many charitable causes.
-Lollapalooza was first done in 1991 and continued until 1997. It was revived in 2003 and now occurs annually again in Chicago.
-Coachella Music Festival took place first in 1999 in California and has took place annually and the same place till this day.
Why do you think music festivals are so important to people?
Author: Music lovers, or anyone for that matter, can go to one concert but see multiple of their favorite artists and stay longer than an hour show with just one artist. It also is a chance to introduce new artists to people who are there for other artists.
I truly enjoyed your topic about music festivals. I have been to some music festivals in the past. I too had some questions about what they were like in the past compared to how they are now. If i were you, I would include some analysis and give your opinion.
ReplyDeleteThis article had some very interesting information about music festivals that I did not know. It's really cool to see how festivals have started around the mid 20th century and then were revived in the 21st century. I am now more open to a lot more music festivals that I had no idea existed. They all seem unique in their own way, with their venues and location. Next time, refer to the gold sheet for how you should embed your links into your article. Also maybe add more questions to ask your other, and make sure you cite what is from the article. Also maybe add some more opinion into your post at the end or so, possibly your experience at a festival.
ReplyDeleteI think music festivals are important to people because you meet a bunch of like minded people who want to have a good time with everyone and see their favorite artists perform. I also think they are important to me because I like going to festivals and concerts because I find them very inspirational.
