Hospitality
People are usually homeless because they can't afford a house I think we can all agree on that but what if these people received a house where it was way cheaper than a regular house. That's exactly what The Cheyenne Interfaith Hospitality Network is doing to help homeless families receive houses based on the amount they're able to pay so they can become more independent.
"The family will pay an amount based on income, which will go toward property taxes, repairs and a fund for emergency expenses for the home." This program gives low income families an opportunity to live in houses that they would otherwise have no chance of living in. This program motivates homeless people get a job and to become a more functioning member of society. "In two-parent families, both parents must work..."
With this being said I feel it will motivate more families to get and maintain a job so they can have a house of their own for them and their family to live in. "You're homeless? Why don't you just get a job?" Well easier said than done. When getting a job one of the unsaid prerequisites are that you are a clean, well put together person. That is not an easy task to do in a communal bathroom.
