Final Conclusion

This may help you out!

I put all of my findings into one, here’s a list that puts the top factors together into picking a career. These aren’t in a specific order, they are put together to help lead someone in the right path.

  1. SALARY: It seems like money means a lot these days. Money drives the economy, gives power to the individual, leads to success, and can help put you in a better situation than what you’re in now. Money solves problems, which is why a lot of people want more and more. When picking a career, deciding how much money you’ll make each year might be a huge deciding factor. As we grow older, we want enough money so that we can support a family and eventually retire. As stated in a past blog post, the top careers make a lot of money, but make sure to consider your strengths and interests. Picking a career based only on how much money you’ll make isn’t the best idea. You want to do something you’re good at and if that also comes with a high salary, then you get the best of both worlds.
  2. The Trend of Top Careers: Careers tend to follow the trend of other fields. Technology is HUGE right now, and it’s affecting what jobs are popular and what jobs are necessary. As seen in a past post, the top careers nowadays are based off technology. It’s ever changing but the job market is following what’s popular. Picking a career in technology would be the best bet because it’ll always be around and will need people to follow it and be comfortable with it. Our generation is set in the technology department because we were born in a digital age.
  3. Parents Influence: Our parents while we were growing up made most of our decisions for us. They know our strengths, weaknesses, and what we would succeed at. I know being a young adult we want to make our own decisions, but considering what our parents have to say would be smart. It seems like a trend is to follow what you’re parents do, which is completely fine because you’ve probably been raised in that atmosphere. Otherwise, picking your own path is awesome, but considering what your parents have to say because they do have a lot of experience, may be beneficial.

This end conclusion is here to put the top factors together so a peer can pick a good path for themselves. I think there's more that goes into picking a solid career including likes/dislikes, strengths/weaknesses, and pros/cons of each career.
